The other kids of the supreme leaders were helpful at some points, but mostly just sort of. While Kenji was trying to add light to dark times and trying to keep his friends and found family together and safe, all the other major characters were off undoing their character development.Īdam is still irrelevant in this book so let's not even mention him. No wonder Kenji was constantly on the verge of a breakdown in this novel, the poor boy was carrying the whole story on his back! How does her mind come up with such lyrical sentences?Īlso, let me say that I really liked Kenji in this book. I had forgotten how atmospheric and beautiful it was. I am very glad about it because this novel was nothing at all like anything I could have possibly imagined.įirst, let me start with the good and say that I love Tahereh's writing. I didn't know what I was getting into and had no idea how it was gonna all turn out. I literally expected nothing from this novel.

But no, I guess life is not in fact, good.įirst, I gotta admit, my hopes for this book were pretty gosh darn low. Life would have been good if it had ended with Ignite Me. This series should have remained a trilogy.
